Fifth & Sixth Grade Art

This 9 weeks we are focusing on seeing geometric shapes and patterns in the everyday things around us.  How these shapes help to define a project's overall composition.  Their first project involves cutting geometric shapes from different colors of constuction paper.  By experimenting with different background colors and design layouts students will find discover design and pleasing composition elements.  Designs will then be glued to the bockground for the finished work.

Their 2nd 9-wks. test will be Fri. Dec. 19th

Seventh & Eighth Grade Art

This 9 weeks the focus will be on pencil drawing with particular attention to shading and light and dark values.  They will be given some drawing assignments to be done at home and will be bringing items to school to draw.  Pencil sketching is one of those things that--  the more you do, the better you are.

They are currently doing sketches of either spools of thread or several legos in first a pencil sketch then the same drawing done in color pencil.  They will be mounted side by side on a colored background paper.

Grade 7 will have their 2nd 9-wks test on Friday Dec. 12    Grade 8's test will be on Friday Dec. 19th
